From the Bay to the Ocean: Fall Fishing at the Jersey Shore
Fall at the Jersey Shore has a special kind of beauty, and for those who love being on the water, the adventures don’t end when summer is over.

This past weekend, my son headed out for a day of fishing, leaving the lagoon in Beach Haven West before sunrise. With fishing rods ready and the early morning sky just beginning to brighten, it was the start of another memorable day on the water.
An Early Start and a Beautiful Sunrise

There’s something magical about being on the water at daybreak. The peaceful surroundings, calm water, and beautiful colors spreading across the sky make those early mornings worth getting up for.
As the sun rose over the Jersey Shore, shades of pink and orange painted the sky. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most beautiful moments happen before the day has even begun.
Fall Fishing: Striped Bass and Tog

Fall is a wonderful time for fishing along the Jersey Shore, and this trip certainly didn’t disappoint!
Fishing in both the bay and the ocean, my son enjoyed a successful outing, catching striped bass, commonly called stripers, and tog, also known as blackfish.
For fishing enthusiasts, fall brings exciting opportunities as striped bass move along the coast during their seasonal migration. Tog are another favorite among local anglers, often found around rocky structures, reefs, and wrecks.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or simply enjoy spending time on the boat, there’s something special about a crisp fall day on the water.
An Unexpected Visit from Dolphins!

As if a great day of fishing wasn’t enough, there was another special surprise — dolphins swimming near the boat!
Seeing dolphins in their natural environment is always exciting, and fortunately, my son captured the moment on video.
It’s experiences like these that make boating along the Jersey Shore so memorable. You never quite know what you might encounter when you head out on the water.
Coming Home to Beach Haven West

After a day of fishing, beautiful scenery, and a few unexpected visitors, it was time to head home.
And back at the lagoon, there was a welcoming committee waiting!
Our Brittany Anna, was there to greet the returning boat, along with a few neighborhood ducks. It’s one of those simple, everyday moments that always makes me smile.
For me, that’s what living in Beach Haven West is all about. It’s not just having a boat in the backyard or easy access to the bay and ocean. It’s the experiences, the family traditions, and the memories made along the way.
The Jersey Shore Is More Than a Summer Destination
Many people think of the Jersey Shore as a summer getaway, but those of us who spend time here throughout the year know there’s so much more to enjoy.
Fall brings quieter waterways, beautiful sunrises, cooler temperatures, and some terrific fishing opportunities.
Whether it’s heading out before dawn for a fishing adventure, enjoying an afternoon cruise, or simply watching the boats return to the lagoon, there’s something to appreciate in every season.
And sometimes, the best part of the adventure is coming home.
